New year. New resolutions. New ideas. New outcomes. Losing weight is usually at the top of people’s New Year Resolutions. But instead of focusing on “losing weight”, what we should be focusing on is total body wellness. The idea of wellness encompasses mental, physical, and emotional elements. When all these elements are in sync, life is good. This year our newsletter posts will focus on how to achieve total body wellness and how AZ Chiropractic can help.

What is wellness? Wellness used to be defined as the absence of disease or sickness. But wellness is no longer the mere absence of disease. It is a proactive, preventive approach designed to achieve optimum levels of health, social and emotional functioning. Wellness can also be defined as an active process through which you become aware of and make choices toward a more successful existence.

The first step in achieving wellness is to take responsibility for your choices. Albert Einstein said:

“Man must cease attributing his problems to his environment, and learn again to exercise his will – his personal responsibility.”

What would persuade you to take responsibility and how do you do it? According to Henrick Edburg, Author of The Positivity Blog, here are seven tips on taking responsibility. Go here to read more.

  1. There is always a price to pay.
  2. Build your self-esteem.
  3. Give yourself the permission to live the life you want.
  4. Taking action becomes natural.
  5. Understand the limits of your responsibility.
  6. Aim to be your best self.

So how do you take responsibility?

Well, it’s simply choice that you have to make. Make the choice to be well, for yourself and for the people you love. Come see Dr. Hirst. His whole body approach to wellness will help you start 2013 out right.

AZ Chiropractic is giving away a free 30 minute massage to the winner of our monthly drawing!

There are two ways to enter:

  1. To receive one entry in the drawing, click on the “Write A Review” button to the right or go to our website and click on the Google, Yelp, or City Search to write a review. When you publish the review, email the link to hirst.azchiro@gmail.com.
  2. To receive two entries, refer a friend. When your friend comes in for the appointment, make sure they tell the receptionist who sent them. The receptionist will send an email to hirst.azchiro@gmail.com noting the referral.

At the end of each month, an independent third party will pick the winner. Dr. Hirst’s office will publish the winner in our monthly newsletter and post it on Facebook! We will also contact them to set up their appointment for a free massage! Good luck!
