Our laser tech, Carmen, was educated in skin care and body rejuvenation in 1996 while living in Romania. After moving to the United States in 2007, she received her certification from the Kohler Academy Arizona, PCA Skin Arizona and the National Laser Institute Arizona, allowing her to perform laser hair removal, chemical peels and acne treatments. She is one of few estheticians in Arizona to perform all waxing, laser and skin treatments on male clients as well as female and has nearly 15 years of experience.
Laser hair removal treatments feel like a small rubber band snap. Many people say they hardly feel any pain and no numbing cream is needed. Hair grows in three growth cycles and in order to get permanent hair reduction, you need to plan on at least three treatments in order to get the best results. Another factor in laser hair removal is skin color and hair color. Light hair is more difficult to remove and might only last for several months, but the laser will shrink the follicle and you will have less hair, in some cases getting permanent reduction. Dark, coarse, hair will have the most effective results. People with fair to medium skin color are the best candidates, since the laser picks up a darker follicle on lighter skin the easiest. You will also get less results on tan skin.
Please come with the area you are getting treated shaved prior to the laser hair removal appointment. Be award that people who have certain medications and/ or who have certain skin conditions (though rare) cannot receive laser treatments.
