Dr. Timothy A. Hirst, D.C. graduated from Southern California University of Health Sciences. There are only 3 of the 18 Chiropractic Colleges in the United States that bare the distinction of “University of Health Sciences” which defines it as an evidence based program rather than being a majority of philosophy based education as other schools offer. The other two recognized universities are North Western University of Health Sciences and National University of Health Sciences. These three universities are viewed by many practicing Chiropractic physicians as “the medical schools” of Chiropractic schooling. These universities offer an extremely high level of education in hopes of molding the Chiropractic Physician of tomorrow. They are fully accredited by regional accreditation associations recognized by the United States government, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges for SCUHS, and the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools for NUHS respectively.
Dr. Hirst opened AZ Chiropractic in June of 2008. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and earned his Doctorate Degree at the University of Southern California Health Sciences. After graduate school, Dr. Hirst worked at chiropractic clinics in Queen Creek and Chandler.
With his educated backgroud, Dr. Hirst is trained in treating and working with a variety of conditions. He loves the fact that work changes everyday, and enjoys the challenge of seeing different conditions.
Dr. Hirst was raised in a farming community in Idaho. When he was 15, Dr. Hirst was injured in an ATV accident and suffered from severe back pain. After several visits to his family’s chiropractor, his pain was completely gone. This experience directed him to a life long interest in health care. When he was young he always wanted to be a Veterinarian, because of his love for animals, but after his accident, he quickly changed his course of action. He learned he could help people be completely rehabilitated. “Although I would have enjoyed working with animals, I love being a Chiropractor. I get to help people every day. To see patients get results and have a healthier way of life is the the best job in the world.”
Dr. Hirst and his family moved to Arizona in 2005. Some of his hobbies include mechanics, gardening, and camping. But mostly, he enjoys spending time with his family.
